Insert   built-in function

The Insert function returns a string which contains an original string, with another string inserted at a specific position.

result = Insert( new, target [, [ offset ] [, [ length ] [, pad ] ] ] )

new

the string to insert into the original string

target

the original string

offset

the offset where the new string is inserted. The default offset is 0, which causes the new string to be inserted ahead of the original string. The offset must be 0 or a positive whole number.

length

the length of the inserted substring. The default length is the entire size of the new string. The length must be 0 or a positive whole number.

pad

an optional padding character, that is used to extend the new string to the specified length. The default padding character is a space.

Examples: say Insert( 'abra', 'cadabra' ) -- shows: abracadabra say Insert( 'ca', 'abradabra', 4 ) -- shows: abracadabra say Insert( 'ca', 'abradabra', 4, 3 ) -- shows: abraca dabra say Insert( 'ca', 'abradabra', 4, 3, '+' ) -- shows: abraca+dabra
