Delword   built-in function

The Delword function returns the string that remains when a word sequence is removed from another string.

result = Delword( string, offset [, length ] )

offset

offset to begin word sequence removal. If offset exceeds the number of words in the string, the entire string is returned. The offset must be a positive whole number.

length

optional length of word sequence to remove. When the length argument is absent the remainder of the string is removed, including the word at the initial offset. The length must be a positive whole number.

The string returned includes all spaces prior to the first word that is removed. Extraneous spaces after the last word that is removed are discarded.

Examples: say Delword( 'Keep things simple', 5 ) -- shows: 'Keep things simple ' say Delword( 'Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler', 9 ) -- shows: 'Everything should be made as simple as possible,' say Delword( 'Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler', 5, 6 ) -- shows: 'Everything should be made simpler'
