C2D   built-in function

The C2D function returns the decimal value of the associated character string.

Portability note: the decimal result will vary for character encodings in different machine environments.

result = C2D( string [, n ] )

string

a sequence of character encodings to convert. If the string is empty, 0 is returned.

n

when specified the string is treated as a signed string of N characters. If the string is too short it is padded on the left with '00'x values.

Examples: say C2D( 'FF81'x ) -- shows 65409 say C2D( '81'x, 1 ) -- shows -127 say C2D( '81'x, 2 ) -- shows 129
