X 5.3.11.3.6 DBCS Items




X The PICTURE character-string can contain the symbol(s) G, G and B, or N.
X Each G, B or N represents a single DBCS character position.


X The entire range of characters for a DBCS literal can be used.


X >_Workstation_> Under AIX, OS/2, and Windows, do not include a single byte
X character of a DBCS code page in a DBCS data item. (The locale you select
X must indicate a DBCS code page. For information on locale, see
X Appendix F, "Locale Considerations (Workstation Only)" in
X topic APPENDIX1.6.)


X For a code page with characters represented in double bytes, the following
X padding and truncation rules apply:


X Other Clauses: When PICTURE clause symbol G is used, USAGE DISPLAY-1 must
X be specified.


X When PICTURE clause symbol N is used, USAGE DISPLAY-1 is assumed and does
X not need to be specified.


X Any associated VALUE clause must specify a DBCS literal or the figurative
X constant SPACE/SPACES.
