X 1.7.1 Millennium Language Extensions Syntax
X The millennium language extensions introduce the following language
X elements to IBM COBOL:
- X The DATE FORMAT clause in data description entries, which defines data
X items as date fields.
- X The following intrinsic functions:
X DATEVAL - Converts a non-date to a date field.
X UNDATE - Converts a date field to a non-date.
X YEARWINDOW - Returns the first year of the century window specified
X by the YEARWINDOW compiler option.
X For details on using the millennium language extensions in applications,
X see the IBM COBOL Programming Guide for your platform, or the IBM COBOL
X Millennium Language Extensions Guide.
X Note: The millennium language extensions have no effect unless:
- X >_Host_> IBM VisualAge COBOL Millennium Language Extensions
X for OS/390 & VM (program number 5648-MLE) is installed with
X your compiler. <_Host_<
- X Your COBOL program is compiled using the DATEPROC compiler
X option (with the century window specified by the YEARWINDOW
X compiler option).
